Been a long while, but I feel it's worth mentioning - back up your damn photos. At this stage it's a non-issue for me since I've been shooting film at university these last two years. However, earlier this year I had a catastrophic hard-drive failure (The actual disk was damaged somehow, resulting in one dead computer) and since I was between backups, I've been left with a clean slate to work off. For the reason, seeing the images on this account has been a mixed bag ranging from "Why" to "Guess I wasn't nearly as bad as I thought I was in 20xx" to "Good God, I wish I still had a full res image of that, stupid watermarking...",
Aside from that, things have been good (to all 0 of the watchers I still have who actually look at my work). I've been a smidge more active on (I've entirely forgotten the journal system on dA) DylanHope, though not much. At this stage I've entered what's known in the fitness community as cocoon mode - that is to say, no perceivable activity, building up on a more 'secretive' level. I've shot a documentary for the Auckland waterfront tramway, I've produced one book of street work so far for university, I'm producing another two in the next two weeks. I've been shooting plenty of weddings in the last two years and have finally started taking steps to starting my own business in the last few weeks. All in all, I think that 2013 has been a good year - a kick in the pants.

Moving but not really but really.

I've decided to split my account. My photojournalism and street will be on a dedicated profile from this point onwards (I've gone through my gallery's back catalogue and removed several deviations). This account will still be in use, but mostly for my portraiture, concept series, landscapes and various 2deep4u photos.

General Fiasco

Well, the band General Fiasco came to our school and played their first ever New Zealand gig. We won the performance through The Edge, a radio-station, somehow despite being in last place a week before the voting deadline. Photos will be coming up over the next day or so.

Alrighty then, I know it's been forever since I last posted anything, let alone a journal. Well, I'm working on a new project now, a narrative centering around a drug addict. It should turn out well, I'm about a third-to-half way through shooting and post-production. How's stuff with you guys been?
